DEVOTIONAL

Have you ever looked at somebody else and thought:

I wish I looked like them.
I wish I had their personality.
I wish I could do what they can do.
I wish I had their life.

Comparison can make you question something deeper than yourself.

It can make you question the Creator.

Genesis says that when God made humanity, He made us in His image. That means your value didn't begin with your appearance, popularity, athletic ability, followers, grades, or what other people think about you.

Your value began with God.

Psalm 139 says you are fearfully and wonderfully made.

That doesn't mean you'll love everything about yourself every day. It means there is a difference between something you may want to grow in and believing that God made a mistake when He made you.

God doesn't make accidental people.

Ephesians 2:10 calls you God's workmanship.

So here's the question:

If I trust the Creator, can I trust what He created?

You don't have to become someone else to become valuable.

God already gave you value.

THINK

Take a minute.

Who have I been comparing myself to lately?

And an even deeper question:

Who have I allowed to define me?

Friends?
Social media?
My past?
My appearance?
Other people's opinions?

Or God?

PRAY

Talk to God.

God, help me see myself the way You see me. Forgive me for allowing comparison and other people's opinions to become louder than Your voice. Teach me to trust that You were intentional when You created me. Amen.

DO

Live it out.

Every morning this week, look in the mirror and say:

“God made me on purpose, for a purpose.”

THE QUESTION THAT FOLLOWS US

Who gets to define me?

Not my past.
Not my mistakes.
Not my friends.
Not social media.
Not my feelings.
Not my circumstances.
GOD DOES.

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.” — Isaiah 43:1
